This service includes but is not limited to, the availability and work done by our funeral director(s) and staff on behalf of the purchaser. This would include the coordination and directing the services of our staff and agents with those of the hospital, nursing home, or cemetery or crematorium in picking up the deceased from the place of death and making the necessary arrangements for final disposition. It also includes the invoices, booking staff and vehicles and other support functions.

The initial transfer of the deceased to our facility: This is a 24-hour service and includes staff, a transfer vehicle, specialized equipment.

Transfer of the deceased from our facility to the crematorium or cemetery of choice. This service includes staff, a transfer vehicle and specialized equipment.

Staff services to prepare and retain all necessary documentation; file, obtain and deliver required documents and permits, provide disbursement cheques, Canada Pension Information, a receipted account and 10 - 20 Proof of Death Certificates.

Arranging interim shelter of the deceased.

Municipal registration of every death is required by law. This is the fee charged as an administration fee.

A service held at the graveside of the burial location.

A 2 hour period in the chapel you have chosen. This may incorporate a formal or ritual service in the chapel and/or at the graveside. (Staff for each additional hour for visitation or funeral service is $150/hr)

Being able to see a loved one before a final disposition is helpful for a sense of closure. This is not necessarily a funeral service, but an opportunity to briefly say goodbye before final disposition. Includes very basic preparation and staffing fee. Dressing and bathing not included.

St. James Chapel, located on the south east corner of Parliament Road and Bloor Street, is the perfect location for a funeral or memorial service. This historic chapel seats 200 people, but is also perfect for a small family gathering. Families are welcome to bring music, photos, or flowers, however candles and food are not permitted.

The Riverside Cemetery chapel, is a convenient and comfortable facility for families from Etobicoke to Markham. Located at the corner of Lawrence and Royal York, the chapel seats 50 people, making this a perfect selection for small gatherings. Flowers, photos and music are welcome and the the fee is $124.30 for a half hour, or $248.60 for the full hour.

Depending on how you would like to honour a loved one a ceremony can be held by a priest, minister, reverend, or non-denominational celebrant at any location. Prices may vary however the average honourarium is $250.

This usually includes fruit and vegetable crudités, tea sandwiches, light desserts, coffee and tea. Depending on what is chosen, catering is between $5-$20 per person.

Depending on where the death occurs, we may be required to send a second staff member to the place of death for the transfer. This is done in the case of a nursing home death or a death at home. There will also be situations beyond our control where a second staff member is required.

Additional pallbearers to assist you in carrying the casket from the vehicle to the graveside. Please note that this is only necessary when there are not enough able friends or family to act as pallbearers.
